The most heart-wrenching part of being a parent is observing one’s child going through something tough and not being able to fix it for them.
During my time of sorrow and deep despair I turned to writing as a form of therapy. My journal became the place where I off-loaded my emotions.
The answers to my never-ending questions and confirmation of my suspicions came to me unexpectedly in the confines of a knotted, filthy, yellow plastic bag. I used the entries from my journal and the information from the paraphernalia inside the bag to compile my book. This factual story depicts the destruction caused by drug, substance and alcohol addiction. Families are torn apart and relationships are changed forever.
