“A Pastor does not birth a Pastor”; this is a popular saying which is often true. Pastor’s kids (PK’s) often become rebellious and grow up to be the complete opposite of their parents. Confessions of a Pastor’s Kid is a journey of a young boy, Sipho, who grew up as a typical Pastor’s kid; exposed to all the harsh realities that Pastor’s kids have to endure. He observed how his father was called by God – leaving a good paying job only to experience extreme poverty as he started a church in a small rural town called Mount Ayliff in Eastern Cape. The story takes us through Sipho’s life as he grew up in the church, having to balance being a boy and being an “Angel” – as most Pastor’s kids are expected to behave in the eyes of society. At the end of this book the reader will have a better understanding of why PK’s end up being so rebellious. My hope as you read this book is that at the end you will be able to empathise with PK’s, understand the pressures that they have to bear and know that as rebellious as some tend up to be, most of them are the result of a the undue pressures exerted on them from a very young age.
